Dean put the jar back down on the table, ignoring the way Warren almost fell over when the jar met the table hard. "Sammy?" Could it be true? The portal-thingy, whatever it was, had brought his brother back, not made things worse? Of course, Sam was still small. He was standing on the table, not beside it. But he was BACK. Dean grinned at him. The grin faded somewhat when little Sam backed away from him with distrust showing clearly on his face. Of course. That fairy spell had knocked out his memories, and now he didn't know Dean. With a sigh, Dean crouched to be about eye level with his shrunken brother. "Sam, it's me, Dean. Your brother."

"You're not my brother," Sam told him, looking at something over Dean's shoulder. Dean turned to see what it was just in time to get jumped.

Sam and Nixie watched the two humans fighting. Sam, in particular, hoped that his brother Dean would win. If that other man, who had claimed to be Dean, but wasn't, won, he didn't know what would happen to him. Biting his lip, Sam looked over at Nixie with worry in his eyes.

Nixie seemed confused. She looked into Sam's eyes and stated, "Your brother is fighting with himself."

Confused, Sam managed an eloquent "Huh?"

Pointing down to the scuffle on the floor, the sprite said, "The ones-that-are-fighting are the same. They are both..." she seemed to have to search a moment for his name, but finished, "Dean."

"You're sure?" Sam asked, but he already knew that she was. Not an hour ago he had pointed out to Dean that she didn't seem like she would even know what a lie was. Even as Nixie gave him a solemn nod, Sam was stepping towards the edge of the table. "DEAN!"

Hardly pausing in their fight, the Deans chorused, "What?"

"Stop fighting!" Sam pleaded.

"He started it," one Dean said, while at the same time the other answered, "No way I'm letting some wannabe-me get a hold of you, Sammy."

Sam looked over at Nixie with a grimace, and then turned back to the two humans on the floor again. "Dean, stop! Nixie says that he's you, too."

The Dean that Sam knew looked up, confused, and just missed getting punched in the chin. "What?"

"He isn't a wannabe you, he IS you," Sam said. "Sorta, I guess."

The two men -who, everyone had to admit, looked almost like identical twins- paused and looked up at Sam. "Run that by me again?" asked the familiar one. Sam looked over to Nixie for help.

"Both are the same," she stated. "You-" she pointed to one- "and you-" she pointed to the other- "are both Dean."

"Whaa...?"

Nixie tried to explain in a way that made more sense to them. "There are many worlds," she said. "I am from another world, and came through a portal to this one. My world is much different from this, but there are worlds that are mirrors-of-what-is. They are almost the same as each other." Pointing to the new Dean, she added, "He-who-appeared-through-portal is the same person as he-who-has-been-here." Here she pointed to the Dean who'd been in the room the whole time.

The new Dean, who, Sam noticed, looked somewhat older than his Dean, looked over at the jar he had set down on the table. Following his gaze, Sam was startled to see someone even smaller than him trapped inside. "What do you think, pint size?" Dean asked. "Sound reasonable?"

The small man shrugged. "Sure, why not? I already know there's plenty of realms. I'm even stranded from mine. No reason there couldn't be one that matches yours."

"Or two?" a voice behind them asked. They all turned to see the speaker -the tall man they'd forgotten about before, who was lying on the other bed.

"Who are you?" the younger Dean asked.

"He is Sam," Nixie told him.

Sam made a face. "You mean the other world me gets to be normal sized?" he complained. "No fair."

Older Dean chuckled a little at that, but said nothing.

"Hey!" Sam said up to him to get his attention. Dean turned back and looked at him.

"Yeah?"

"Why do you have someone in a jar?" Sam asked with a glare, obviously irritated at the injustice of it.

"Hey, chill, Sammy," Dean said. "There's a good reason for it." He pointed at his prisoner. "That guy was responsible for my brother getting shrunk, and then disappearing on me."

"Only partly!" Warren tried to protest, but Dean spoke over him.

"And he's also my only lead on being able to ever get Sam back, so I can't risk him being loose."

"Wait, so he isn't the Sam from your world?" Dean asked, pointing to the Sam on the bed. The other Dean shook his head.

"Nope."

That Sam cracked a grin at them. "I could've told you that," he said. "I know you're not my brother, either of you."

"How's that?" Dean asked.

The figure that they had taken to be a doll or something on Sam's chest looked over at them. "Because I am!" he snapped.
